Aircraft, seacraft, and landcraft all share one common ending: a gigantic, above-ground graveyard with their brethren, doomed to rust under hot sun. Oftentimes craft that are retired before the entire fleet is decommissioned are kept here purely to be harvested for spare parts for their healthy brethren, but even after a model is removed from service they continue to lie around forever - long after their creators are gone. Part of this is because recycling their core materials is not profitable enough, nor are components like electronics up to scratch compared to more modern vehicles.
But what if your failing craft could be given new life? Aircraft that have been sent to the graveyard are effectively dead by dint of their designation and new location - no different to people buried six feet under. The primary difference is that people reached the end of their lifespan and could go on no longer, but if those vehicles went through a proper maintenance and reanimation cycle they could be brought back to serviceable life and continue existence, free of the pains of chassis stress fractures or oil leaks.
Necromancy is often regarded as an art and science in an ethical grey area. At ScorpInc we’re firm believers in erring on the morally correct side, we don’t truck with reviving human, animal, or cryptozoological creatures who have not consented to be re-animated. But planes, large trucks, and old boats were never given such opportunities to become properly deceased and we are here to amend that.
We maintain large “graveyards” for vehicles and our telemechanics commune with the spirits of the vehicles that are sent to us. If they were simply retired for profit reasons or minor injury and wish to be brought back to life, our necromancers will perform the rituals necessary to give them an undeath in which they can continue surviving. Much like the raising of skeletons, vehicles brought back to life no longer have need for fuel and thus no longer pollute the airways with toxic chemicals. The hazardous materials in their electric, fire suppression, and oil systems no longer leak into the toxic ground or sea they were sent to as a final resting place, as they have moved to a hybrid corporeal-spirit plane.
These poor creatures who have been forced to work until they were no longer considered productive enough are now filled with unceasing energy and vigour and we return the favour. They become employees of ScorpInc who are contracted out to companies who need fleet vehicles and are happy with such an unconventional, but charitable and ethical arrangement. As employees they receive full pay, leave entitlements, and an appropriate 8/8/8 working cycle. That is, eight units of time working, eight units of time for rest/maintenance, and eight units of time for their own leisure. While for humans this is typically an eight hour split, some craft exist on different maintenance schedules - while a dual cab 4WD ute might prefer their 8/8/8 to be hours, a cargo container ship might prefer eight months of work followed by eight months of maintenance and eight months to explore their own passions.
If you’re looking for a way to ethically hand off your old fleets, or looking for new-old fleets who are happier and more enthused in their work as they have been given a second chance and time to themselves, look no further than ScorpInc’s Mechanised Graveyard Necromancy services.
